What is your comic about?

The Prince of Southland is a sci-fi romance with a side of action and drama. It’s about a trust fund baby who harbors a fugitive in his home and then falls in love with him.

Is your comic appropriate for children?

No. It contains swearing, violence, and sexual themes.

What tools do you use?

Macbook Pro, Wacom Intuos Pro, Photoshop, and Clip Studio Paint.

What works inspired your comic?

Lots of sci-fi media like Blade Runner, Her, The Matrix, Akira, Paprika, Psycho-Pass, Steins;Gate, Fullmetal Alchemist, and lots media with queer romance like No. 6, Legend of Korra, Black Sails, Moonlight, and The Way He Looks.

Who is ‘The Prince of Southland’?

It’s Donnie — the main character.

How tall is Donnie?

He’s 6’5”.

Which character are you most like?

Probably Del or Lena.

How long will the comic be?

Not sure. Probably anywhere from 3 to 5 seasons, each with 45-50 episodes. Depends on how it’s received and how much fun I’m having making it.

Are you self-taught?

Yes and no. I’ve been drawing since I can remember and I would say my character drawing is self-taught, but I did go to art school for graphic design, which really improved my color theory, composition, and typography skills.

Will the comic be released as a printed book?

I hope so one day! No plans yet.
